Winning RUST starts with a blueprint. Your base is your main fortress, and its design decides whether you become a victim or a master of the situation.
Forget about simple boxes. The basis of survival is honeycombing. Build concentric layers of walls and compartments so that the raider spends maximum resources on each step. Think over the location of the cabinet (Tool Cupboard) — hide it in a maze of false corridors. The shape of the base is important: polygonal and rounded structures are more difficult to crack than flat walls.
The base must evolve. Upgrade the walls to stone immediately, and the key elements to metal and armor. Traps are a system, not decorations. Integrate auto turrets, shotguns, and mines into narrow passage points. Master electricity: motion sensors and timers will make your defenses work automatically.
Art lies in deception. Disguise the base as a landscape, build false entrances, and create mazes of identical doors and dead-end staircases inside. Your goal is not to stop, but to demoralize and ruin the enemy. The ideal base is one that they don't want to attack. Build wisely.
