In DAYZ, the power isn't always in the barrel. Sometimes it's in the voice and deception. Your goal is to survive by someone else's hands. To do this, become an actor. Create a character: a harmless novice, a wounded soldier, a friendly merchant. Your voice and story should not arouse fear, but sympathy or pity. Offer help, share small things, and build the illusion of mutual benefit.
Trust is your hook. As soon as you become "your own", begin to gently manage the actions of the group. Direct them to dangerous areas under the pretext of rich loot, provoke conflicts with other units with false information, while remaining in the shadows. Let them spend resources and ammo on your targets.
The ending is always a betrayal, but it's quiet and graceful. You don't have to shoot yourself. You can poison food, stage an attack by zombies or other players, and then pick up loot as the "only survivor". At DAYZ, trust is a weapon. Give it generously, so that at the crucial moment you can take everything away from the gullible.
